jFusion lets you wrap your Moodle in the luxury of a Joomla template, complete with single sign-in.
Moodle is a wicked Learning Management System (LMS) but it will never be accused of being easy on the eyes. Students and teachers alike can be put off by Moodle's boxy feel. A great plugin from jFusion makes it easy to wrap your Moodle in a custom Joomla template and take advantage of the serious eye candy and social networking tools Joomla can provide. jFusion can be installed in Joomla in a matter of minutes and then allows you to place your Moodle site in a wrapper within the Joomla theme. The result is a sexy, streamlined look that uses Joomla authentication to connect to your Moodle pages.
I've used a couple of similar solutions in the past, but jFusions is by far the easiest and most reliable. I used jFusion over the past two semesters to add a virtual world theme to my Moodle installations. In both cases, the Joomla themes (from Rockettheme.com) really improved the presentation of my courses.
My students felt the site looked interesting and inviting, and most didn't realize the actual course content was supported by Moodle (more on Moodle modification in another article).
The jFusion connection enabled me to leverage the terrific designs and slick architecture of Joomla while still having access to the course-management horsepower of Moodle.
Why not give it a try?
